IBM Australian Open – Return Serve

Together with my colleages at Ogilvy – DT Digital in Sydney we worked on an IBM campaign for the Australian Open in 2014.

To show the power of the live serve data captured and analyzed by IBM in real time during the Australian Open, we developed a virtual reality application, to give users the chance to view and analyze this data by their own.

A Unity 3D game let the user serve a live ball with a virtual raquet, which was controlled by a connected Razor Drift controller.

Another webapplication made it possible, to compete in this challenge even from a Desktop computer. A nodeJS realtime backend made it possible to connect a mobile device and control the virtual user by reading out the giro and sensor data.
